On Tuesday the Tulinj police arrested a 27-year-old man for allgedly killing his live-in-partner and hid her body in a single bed cavity. As per the police officials, the murder took place two days ago but came to light on Monday evening. 


27-year-old Hardhik Shah is a son of a diamond trader from Malad who was disowned by his father after he purportedly splurged around INR 40 lakh from his father’s bank account. The deceased Megha Torvi (35) was a nurse by profession.

According to Shailendra Nagarkar, senior police inspector of Tulinj police station, since the past two months, the couple were staying in a rented room in Sita Sadan building on Tulinj Road in Nalasopara East. The couple were in a relationship for the past 6 months, an official said.

The untoward incident took place on Sunday when the couple had a fight, following which Shah smothered Megha to death. He then dumped his body in the cavity of the bed and fled.  Hardik Shah tried to flee Palghar district of Maharashtra but was arrested by the railway police. As Shah was unemployed, the couple used to have fights over financial issues, which resulted in her death, police said.
