The Malvani police have succeeded in arresting a 28-year-old woman who kidnapped a one-and-a-half-year-old boy from the Malad area within 12 hours. The child was safely released from the custody of the accused woman and the police are investigating why the accused woman kidnapped the child.
Nine-year-old daughter and one-and-a-half-year-old son of Kavita Vadar, who live in Malvani area, were playing in the Gavdevi temple area. The 25-year-old accused woman came there and sent the girl to get biscuits from the shop by giving her a 200 rupee note. When the girl left, the accused woman abducted the one-and-a-half-year-old child. The distraught woman then filed a police complaint and a case was registered against a woman.
Considering the seriousness of the crime, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Circle 11) Ajay Kumar Bansal instructed Senior Police Inspector Chimaji Adhav to investigate immediately. Various police teams were formed in the circle. In the absence of any concrete information in the investigation of the crime, the investigation team conducted a technical investigation and arrested the accused woman Sonam Mantosh Sahu within 12 hours. The one-and-a-half-year-old child in her custody has been released safely and the investigation is on.
