In a latest twist in Antilia bomb case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday, March 16, recovered a number plate of the Scorpio car, more than INR 5 lakhs in cash, a note counting machine and some clothes.

The probe agency traced a suspicious black colour Mercedes Benz car linked to Sachin Vaze from the Crawford market area.

The Mercedes was recovered from a car-parking near the Mumbai Crime Branch office close to the Crawford market, said the NIA officer.

While talking to the media, NIA IG Anil Shukla said, “Sachin Vaze used to drive this car but who it belongs to is being investigated." The National Investigation Agency is conducting a search of the car allegedly used by Mansukh Hiren on February 17.”

Reportedly, Sachin Vaze had used the Mercedes car for his personal use with a fake number plate.

According to sources, on Monday night, March 15, the investigation body seized a laptop, mobile phones, his iPad, and some documents from the suspended Mumbai Police API's office.

Moreover, the central investigating agency has also recorded statements of five Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) and two Crime Branch personnel so far. The controversial Mumbai Police cop, who has been suspended for his alleged involvement in the bomb scare near Mukesh Ambani's residence continues to remain in NIA custody till March 25.
