One accused arrested in connection of Virar builder murder case

On Monday, a Mumbai builder residing in Virar was stabbed to death while he was on his way to the temple. One of the accused who is in connection with the case has been arrested.

According to the media reports, Prafull Wagh who is the investigating officer has said that six people were involved in killing the 31-year old.

Assuring that the other five accused will be arrested soon he said. “One accused Chandrabhan Chauhan (39) has been placed under arrest. His other five accomplices are absconding, but soon they too will be arrested.”

The incident took place at around 3 AM on Monday, when Nishant Kadam was on his way to offer prayers at Shiv temple which is located near Papadkhind dam. Kadam used to offer his prayers every Monday during Shrawan.

It was when he was stabbed multiple times on his back and in other parts of his body. He was also hit by an iron rod. As a result of excessive bleeding and injuries, he died immediately.

Inspector Kadam said that the motive behind this is said to be business rivalry and they wanted to settle the score with the builder. Addressing the same Kadam said, “The accused knew that Kadam goes to temple early in the morning. So, he hatched a plan along with his accomplices to eliminate Kadam.”

The investigation is still going on as the other five accused are yet to be arrested.
