Andheri - Beware if you are an online shopping fan. Watch this video to know why we are sounding this note of caution. Andheri resident Kamlesh Giri had ordered a mobile phone from an online platform. What he received instead was a stone! The stone was set inside an intricate box that was supposed to house a mobile phone worth Rs13000. However, Kamlesh got wind of the scam when he opened the box in front of the person who had come to deliver the parcel, Jaywant Bane. “I booked a Vivo mobile from the Snapdeal app, worth Rs. 13,799. I got a call on 5th November from a delivery boy and he asked me if he could come over. I told him to come in the evening. Instead, I went over to his office to collect the parcel. When I unpacked the package, I saw the stone. Immediately, I took a written statement from Bane stating the facts. Henceforth, I will not go in for online shopping and will not encourage others either,” Giri said Giri has lodged a police complaint and is readying to approach the consumer redressal forum if the company does not respond to his complaint.
