On July 28, a 35-year-old female teacher was arrested in Ulwe for allegedly video calling a Class 10 student and engaging in a sexual conversation. When the student’s mother found the video call recording on the boy’s phone, the mother came to know about the incident. Upon being confronted by his mother, he confessed that the woman in the video call is his teacher.
As per the police, the teacher allegedly video called the boy on July 27 and made obscene gestures. The student recorded the video on his phone.
“The complainant found videos wherein the accused teacher had exposed her private parts,” said the investigating officer.
The mother approached the Koparkhairane police and reported the incident. The police registered a case against the teacher under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, based on her complaint. She has been remanded in police custody for one day.
