Vile Parle- Police were successful in cracking the ransom case by arresting three accused who belong to Ravi Pujari’s gang.
On 21st October 2016, a man wearing black jacket entered Gazali hotel of Vile Parle and started conversing with the manager. While doing so, he wrote Ravi Pujaris name on the note and handed it over to the manager who was sitting at the counter. The manager refused to follow his instructions. This infuriated the man wearing the black jacket and then he pulled out the gun and fired at the manager but fortunately, it did not hit the manager. In the meantime, the man who fired ran away from the scene. The scared manager then called up the police and told the ordeal.
Upon investigation, police got to know that the guy who fired the manager was none other than Ravi Pujari’s agent Mrityunjay Das. Police was successful in arresting him from Antop Hill.
“We saw the CCTV footage and followed the leads. Then we arrested the accused from Bandra. After interrogating him, we got a hold on two other accused. We have seized 4 mobile phones, and we are investigating the case,” said Vinay Kumar Rathod, DCP, Crime.
This is not the first time hotel manager was attacked. Before this incident, the hotel manager had received ransom calls and he had complained about the same. Police was searching Das since months and finally, they were successful in nabbing not only him but his accomplices Suresh Pujari and Rakesh Pujari.
