Maharashtra Police raided a spa center at Beed after they got a tip stating a prostitution racket was being run under the name of a massage parlour.

After the raid, three unmarried girls were rescued. The owner and the manager of the spa are absconding and the police are filing a case against them at Shivajinagar Police Station. Majalgaon Sub-Inspector Shweta Khade with her team raided the spa on Monday night.

Police from their source got a tip that three unmarried girls were being driven from Mumbai to Beed for prostitution work at the spa. A prostitution operation operating under the guise of a spa centre next to a showroom in Mondha Chowk on local Jalna road in Beed City was made known to IPS officer Pankaj Kumawat via his sources. Then Kumawat told Majalgaon's Shweta Khade to lead her troops on a raid. The police dispatched fictitious clients to check whether prostitution was being conducted under the guise of a spa. The action was taken right away after discovering the truth and having the evidence.

For the last few months, the massage parlour was in business. As they were also providing escort services, the girls were shown to the customers as per their choices.

In Beed, new instances of illegal prostitution are being discovered daily. Earlier, it was discovered that underage girls were being sold into prostitution at an art gallery in Cage.

Mumbai Police too solved a similar case in June 2023. The police conducted a raid at the Royal Oak Spa in Dadar, close to Khodad Circle, and detained the spa's managers for operating a prostitution ring under the guise of a massage parlor. Five women who had been coerced into prostitution were saved.

Rajkumar Das and Satishkumar Dhuria were detained under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) after the police stormed the spa on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road in Dadar. They too had sent dummy customers there to ensure that the news they got was true and to capture evidence against the criminals.

From the Mumbai spa police recovered eight mobile phones, and 2 lakh rupees in cash.
