Kandivali - An intercaste marriage, a 11 day old son, a couple's struggle with poverty that compels them to leave the infant outside a dargah.
These are not pointers for a tearjerker film, but reality for a couple residing in the metropolis. A couple from Sanjay Nagar, Laljipada, tired of grinding poverty and adverse social circumstances, left their son who was born 11 days ago at a dargah on Saturday. The two belong to different castes- Hina hails from Hyderabad and Sahil is from Gujarat. Senior PI Mukund Pawar investigated the couple and the two broke down after a few rounds of questioning. The two  admitted that because of poverty, they were unable to look after the son and had hence abandoned him. Sahil asked a watchman at Mahim Dargah to hold the baby for a while till he returned. Sahil did not come back. The infant was handed over to the Swami Shraddhanand Ashram, Matunga.
