The 72-year-old founder trustee of the renowned Warrier Foundation in Mumbai's Powai area, Athrasseri Sethu Madhavan, has made serious allegations against Swami Sunildas Prabhakaran. The accusations involve a staggering INR 5.5 crore fraud.

Swami Prabhakaran of Muthalmada Charitable Trust, Kerala, initially admired Athrasseri Sethu Madhavan's charity work for flood victims. He offered to honour Madhavan's group with a donation of INR 25 crore. He also presented an award to the foundation, graced by a former ISRO director.

Swami Prabhakaran handed over a cheque worth INR 25 crore to Madhavan. However, before the cheque could be deposited, the Swami claimed unresolved bank debts, putting a temporary halt to the donation process. The accused allegedly accepted INR 5.5 crore on this pretence in two payments between October and November 2018.

According to the complaint, this amount was transferred from the Warrier Foundation's account and Madhavan's savings account to the Muthalmada Charitable Trust and Prabhakaran's accounts. Madhavan made the payments, but the promised INR 25 crore never reached the Warrier Foundation's accounts.

After repeated attempts to resolve the matter, Madhavan reported the fraud to the Powai police. Following a thorough investigation, Swami Sunildas Prabhakaran was arrested on charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust.
