Social media influencer Sapna Gill, accused of assaulting cricketer Prithvi Shaw, approached the High Court on Tuesday seeking quashing of the case. Sapna has claimed in the petition that the First Information Report (FIR) against her is based on false allegations and she is being implicated in the case. Four accused including her were granted bail by the Andheri Magistrate Court.
Last month, cricketer Prithvi Shaw found himself being allegedly attacked with a baseball bat after he refused to take a selfie with some fans, which was later identified as Sapna Gill.
In the early hours of Wednesday February 16, the fight began at a luxury hotel in Mumbai's Oshiwara after two fans - a man and a woman - approached the cricketer for selfies, said Shaw’s friend. After a few pictures, the fans didn't back off and Shaw asked his friend and the hotel manager to remove them from the area. After being thrown out of the hotel, the fans mobbed Shaw and his friend with baseball bats and then proceeded to chase them in their car, his friend added.
According to Mr Shaw's friend, they also demanded INR 50,000 threatening to file a fake police case.

Sapna Gill is a social media influencer and has over 2,20,000 followers on Instagram. She hails from Chandigarh and is a Mumbai resident.
