Drug supplier, Mohammed Jaman Hidaytullah Khan was arrested by the NCB on Monday from south Mumbai.

The Narcotics Control Bureau made a breakthrough in the drug nexus in Mumbai and arrested prominent drug supplier and history-sheeter, Mohammed Jaman Hidaytullah Khan, also known as Sonu Pathan in south Mumbai.

Earlier, he was wanted in a plethora of drug cases including one wherein the central agency busted a drug lab. Herein they alleged to have seized 12kg mephedrone, Rs 2.18cr and 2 weapons in a flat in Dongri in January. During this bust, the agency also managed to get its hands on 2 other drug traffickers.

Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB, mentioned that as part of the investigations, the agency had sent multiple summonses to Khan in the past 6 months which he managed to evade. Apart from the drug cases, 7 body offences were also registered against him. He was also involved in the case of Iqra Qureshi who was brought behind bars for possessing a commercial quantity of mephedrone in Mumbai.

Khan, a partner in a drug factor, had managed to flee Mumbai and was in hiding during which he attempted to visit the city. It is during this, that the NCB attained intelligence that he was visiting an ally in the Pydhonie area. A team was then dispensed on Sunday evening. Post the confirmation of his presence, he was intercepted in the early hours of Monday and brought to the NCB office. Khan is also the relative of late gangster Abdul Karim Sher Khan aka Karim Lala.
