While Padalkar referred to the case as a potential instance of "love jihad" and "forced conversion," the police have clarified that the initial First Information Report (FIR) filed when the girl went missing did not include any such allegations. Contrary to Padalkar's claims, the police emphasized that the FIR did not mention love jihad or forceful conversion.

Press Conference Raises Awareness and Provides Details

During a press conference held with the missing girl and her family, Padalkar provided further details regarding the incident. He mentioned that the girl's brother became concerned after watching the movie "The Kerala Story" and approached community members for assistance. With their support, a search was launched, resulting in the girl's discovery on May 16. Padalkar further alleged that the girl was rescued from a locked room by the boy.
