According to a report in Times of India, Rhea Chakraborty has claimed to never have met Aaditya Thackeray, the Shiv Sena leader.
The actress in her statement also added that she only knows of him as a leader from the Shiv Sena party and has not spoken to him telephonically or otherwise. This comes after unsubstantiated claims have been made linking the young leader to the case of Sushant Singh Rajput. Similarly, Aaditya Thackeray had also earlier issued a statement calling any link to him 'dirty politics'.
On June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. Even though the Mumbai Police immediately claimed it to be a suicide. However, post his death many other facts, evidence and testimonies have emerged have cast a shadow around this narrative leading to further conjecture regarding the issue.
The Mumbai police, till date, has questioned 56 people which includes, Mahesh Bhatt, Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Apoorva Mehta, Rajeev Masand, in connection with the actor's death.
In the past, Rajput’s father had approached the Patna police registering an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others on charges of abetment to suicide, cheating, and conspiracy among others.
However, in recent developments, the Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 19, has given a nod for the investigation to be conducted by CBI. The Supreme Court has further asked the Mumbai Police to cooperate with the CBI during the investigation.
