Rickshaw driver murdered on suspicion of mobile theft

In a sensation incident, a rickshaw driver murdered another rickshaw driver on suspicion of the theft of his mobile on Thursday.

According to information, deceased autorickshaw driver Amarkumar Lalji Gupta (24), a resident of Kurla, was murdered by Danish Anis Ahmed Shaikh (22) and Firoz Rafiq Shaikh (37). The reason behind this brutal murder is stated to be the suspicion of mobile theft.

On Tuesday, accused Danish Shaikh suspected that deceased Amarkumar was trying to steal his mobile at Jarimari area in Kurla. As he found his mobile got stolen, he caught hold of Amarkumar. Amarkumar fled from the spot. Danish and his friend Firoz found Amarkumar at Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport where they started thrashing him badly. Amarkumar sustained critical injuries on his head. The accused then made a video clip of Amarkumar. They then took Amarkumar to Sakinaka but he got unconscious mid way. The accused left him in injured and fled from the spot. 

Police received information that a person was lying on the road in injured condition. Police reached the spot and took Amarkumar to Rajawadi Hospital where he breathed his last.

Meanwhile, police arrested the accused and presented them in the court. They were sent to police custody till May 29.
