Manpada police have arrested six Bangladeshi citizens who are living illegally in India in Manpada police station here. They have not found any official documents to reside in India, the police officer said.

A Bangladeshi husband and wife who were living illegally in Vitthalwadi area in Kalyan East two days ago have been arrested by a team of Ulhasnagar Crime Branch. He was living in Kalyan for the last seven years. The husband was a driver in a vehicle and the wife was working as a maid in a hotel.

The Manpada police had received secret information that Bangladeshi nationals were living in their police station limits. After the police verified this information, they found that six Bangladeshis were staying there. After that, the police laid a trap and detained these six Bangladeshis.

When they were asked for passport, visa and citizenship documents to stay in India, they could not provide any documents to the police. Bisu Sheikh, Ruman Pokir, Dilawar Hussain, Arif Mulla, Arif Mofijoon, an unidentified woman have been detained by the police. Police have started legal proceedings against these six persons. They will be produced in the court, said the police officer.
