Mumbai - The Mumbai police have arrested six women on charges of entering the Deonar dumping ground with malicious intent. The story goes back a year, when repeated fires at the Deonar dumping ground became a cause for concern for residents of Navi Mumbai and Mumbai. Probes revealed that ragpickers and scrap mafia were responsible for the fires they would start while foraging. 25 - 30 people had also been arrested last year and the entry of ragpickers was prohibited by the BMC. On Wednesday morning, six women from the neighbouring slum entered the ground. As soon as the Shivaji Nagar police got wind of the information, a team raided the ground and arrested the women.
