Chembur - These visuals are from the skywalk near Chembur railway station. One gets confused on whether this skywalk was made for the public or the drug-addicts and beggars. Even the security of school/college girls and women has become a cause of concern for local residents. The MMRDA has constructed this skywalk by spending crores of rupees. But now this skywalk is being neglected as its flooring has broken, security rods are not in place and lights remain off in the night time. Assistant ward officer Harshad Kale informed, “The MMRDA has handed over this skywalk to the BMC. I’m not aware of the bad condition of this skywalk. I will send officers to inspect the skywalk on Monday.”
