Sion Koliwada- A five year old girl lost her life in a freak accident in her school when a loosened concrete slab fell on her, crushing her instantly.
This incident took place at the Sanathan Dharm High school and Junior College, Koliwada on Wednesday. Two other school children also came under the trap of that horrific incident. The injured are hospitalised in Sion hospital.
Sources said that the school hall was used as a marriage hall and for other functions, and the students had been given a half day. The students' parents were present in the premises of the school to take their children home. Suddenly, the slab on the school entrance collapsed, trapping three children and a woman. 5-year-old Muskan Khan was declared dead on admission to the hospital and the other three Saroja Devi (5), Ayush (5), and Raisa Khatoom (29) were said to be critically injured.
The school authorities have been accused by the students' parents of negligence because the school premises were given on rent for the wedding and other functions. Moreover, they say, in spite of repeated complaints, the slab was not repaired. Parents have lodged a complaint with Antop  Hill police station against the school authorities.
