Every now and then, considering the rising number of railway accidents and casualties, Indian Railways plead commuters to travel safely in local trains. Announcements are done, campaigns are carried out, yet, commuters take risks and board running local trains or stand on the footboard.

One such incident took place at Dadar's platform No.1 where a commuter tried boarding a running local train but instead he fell on the tracks and died.

The incident took place on Sunday at Dadar station where Sudarshan Choudhury (31) tried boarding a running local train but failed to do so and fell on the tracks. The whole incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

Malad resident Choudhury was associated with IBM and his wedding was scheduled in December. He left home saying that he was going for a trek but never reached his destination. When did not reach the trek, his friends tried reaching out to him but his phone was with Dadar police.

Choudhury's friends then filed a missing complaint with Dadar railway police. Meanwhile, during the investigation, police checked the CCTV footage and saw Choudhury boarding a running local train from platform no.1 and falling on the tracks after losing his grip.

Choudhury was the only child and he was fond of trekking. His family were caught up with wedding preparations but things have turned upside down for them.
