According to reports, a student threatened to blow up the Mumbai University if the results for the B.A, B.Com and B.Sc courses weren’t announced promptly. The dangerous email was sent by a student who was claimed to be mentally stressed due to the pending result. Warnings and notices were issued to the student.

An FIR was lodged with the BKC police station in Mumbai in connection with the emails sent on July 9 and 10. The threatening email was sent by a commerce student from a cybercafe, cite reports. The investigation revealed that the email was sent from a fake email id created based on false details. After that, the police investigated and nabbed the student. However, considering his academic career, and seeing that nothing suspicious was found, the student was let go after a warning.

The University of Mumbai has announced the schedule of the admission process for courses in all its academic departments. In particular, for the first time in the university, admission to postgraduate courses in all academic departments will be done centrally. The process for which started on August 12.

In other news, the Mumbai police received an anonymous phone call earlier this month alleging that a bomb had been planted near CSMT, Dadar, Byculla, and Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow in Juhu. Additionally, a search operation was conducted by the Mumbai Police and Bomb Squad, but it turned out to be misinformation.
