A case of theft has come to light from the toilet of a railway station in Maharashtra. It is being said that the value of the stolen goods is in lakhs. At present, railway officials suspect that this is the work of an insider. However, nothing has been said officially about this yet.

This incident took place at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. According to a Times of India report, bathroom fittings worth INR 12 lakh have gone missing from recently renovated AC toilets as well as running rooms and public toilets here. According to the report, the thefts took place on February 5 and February 6.

Which items were stolen?

About 70 items including jet sprays, toilet seat covers, taps, bottle holders and stopcocks were stolen. According to the report, a Central Railway official has said, 'It seems that this is the work of an insider, because only authorised employees have access to the running room. Contractor labour employees can also be involved in this work. There are no CCTV cameras in the toilets, making it difficult to identify them,” he said.

Each jet spray was reportedly worth INR 1,600 and the value of the 12 stolen items was INR 19,200. Six pillar coxes worth INR 28,716 are also missing. AC toilets were opened for passengers in January
