A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by jumping down from the 31st floor in Manpada area of Ghodbunder on Monday. The dead girl's name is Varsha Upadhyay. She had come from Uttar Pradesh five months ago to her relatives for housework and education. It is being speculated that she may have committed suicide as there was no peace in this house. A case of sudden death has been registered in Chitalsar police station.
The Olivia Verethan building is located in the Nilakant Green area of Manpada. Varsha Upadhyay had come to stay with her relatives on the 31st floor of this building. She was studying in class 11th. She was also doing housework for her relatives. But she was not happy.. She had contacted her mother about this on her mobile phone. But her mother told her to stay there for education and future. Varsha tried to contact her mother on her mobile on Sunday night. But she could not be contacted. She woke up at 8 am on Monday. After that she made two to three rounds near the terrace in the house. After a while, she opened the glass door of the terrace, she sat there for a while and then she jumped down..
Police have received CCTV footage of the same. She did not write any note before her suicide. So the reason of her suicide could not be known.
