Thane City Police have asked citizens to be careful while shopping on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

Officials issued an advisory to the public in the wake of several new pages appearing on social media sites selling smartphones, laptops, watches, cameras, and other commodities.

In many instances, items sold on these pages are marketed as significantly cheaper than the actual price, an effective tool to lure users.
