Local Crime Branch team has arrested three accused with old notes of Rs 500 – Rs 1,000. The team recovered cash worth Rs 28 lakh. Nabbed accused are Shahrukh Salim Merchant resident of Gaurav Galaxy Building Mira Road, Mangesh Gangaram from Bhayander (West) and Deepak Pandurang from Borivali.

From where did they get the old notes is the question which is making round? Police are probing in the matter. Venkat Andhale, Police Inspector (Local Crime Branch) stated that old note has been recovered in Thane, after which Dr Mahesh Patil SP asked them to remain alerted.


Police got the tip off on Monday that three people will come to Ambar Plaza Hall, Vijay Nagar located in Mira Road with banned notes. Accused came on the spot at 3.30 pm. Police recovered 1000 notes of Rs 1,000 currency. From the boot of the active police found cash worth Rs 18,10,000.
