Mumbai - On the intervening night of 20/21 October, Air Intelligence Unit officers on the basis of suspicion and intelligence intercepted two lady passengers, Shaikh Shabana Shamsuddin and Zohra Syed Shaukat, arrived from Dubai to Mumbai by Air India Flight recovered assorted gold jewellery weighing 994 grams worth Rs 27,52,933. Both the packs were concealed the assorted jewellery inside pouches kept in the upper garments worn by them. All the above goods were seized. Both of them are Indian nationals but currently stay in Dubai on the resident permit. The Customs officers on October 21 intercepted a lady named Keerthana Prabhakar on her arrival from Colombo by Jet Airways Flight. They found six yellow gold sticks wrapped in aluminum foil and cleverly concealed in the clip/ frame of the baggage, totally weighing 600 grams and valued at Rs 17.48 lakh. The gold was seized and a case was registered.
