Turbhe Police File FIR Against Groom For Waving Sword During a Function

A pre-marriage function in Navi Mumbai’s Turbhe has brought trouble for the groom as he was spotted waving a sword during the ceremony. 

With this in mind, an FIR (first information report) has been filed against the groom as well as other people in Turbhe. The police took this action after a video of the groom and other people wielding a sword appeared on social media.   

The video in question was reportedly captured during the Haldi ceremony which is held prior to the wedding. In the video, several people including the groom were seen waving swords.

A subsequent probe conducted by the police found that the violation took place on January 17 at an open-ground in Turbhe.

The Turbhe MIDC police booked the violators under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act, and the Maharashtra Police Act. Police officials said that no arrests have been made as of yet.
