Wadala TT police arrested an accused Javed aka Java Mehmood Sheikh, a 24 year old for demanding ransom, threatening and beating up 35 year old Mohammed Ismail Bhunkane Idris.
When Ismail was repairing a gutter at Azad Nagar, Javed allegedly came to the spot and threatened the victim with an axe and asked for Rs 10,000. But when Mohammed refused to give the money, Javed attacked him with the axe. After hitting Mohammed, he fled the scene. Mohammed then registered a police complaint.
On Thursday morning, police laid a trap to arrest Javed. Police say Javed is a history-sheeter and has many crimes registered against him.
