In an incident, the accused fled from Mumbai after raping a minor. The minor became pregnant and gave birth to a baby. This happened in Vasai, Palghar district. Police nabbed the absconding rapist on Tuesday from Mumbai Airport.
Accused Martin Lopis is a resident of Vasai, wherein victim’s mother used to work as the maid. Mother always leaves her daughter at Lopis place and then go on doing work in other apartments. After her work gets completed she and her daughter used to leave. Martin raped the victim last year and fled to America. Mahesh Patil, Senior Police Inspector informed that the team got a tip-off regarding Martin Lopis and trapped him at the International Airport. Police are probing further in the matter.
