The Amboli police have arrested a watchman on charges of molesting with two minor girls living in a high-rise area of Mumbai’s Andheri. The incident took place in the building premises when the accused was working as a watchman in the victim’s building.

In the evening on Monday, January 25, 2021, two minor girls were playing on the premises when the accused saw them and started touching them in the wrong way. The accused also threatened to kill the girls if they told anyone about it.

The girls aged 11 years and 12 years were wandering around the house, during which the parents were suspicious about the girl’s behaviour. They took the girls into confidence and questioned them about the incident, who eventually panicked and complained to their parents about the happening. Thereafter, they approached the police station and lodged a complaint.

The accused has been identified as Gyanba Raghunath Bhange (50) who lives in Nalasopara area. He was booked under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
