The body of an unidentified woman was found in a suitcase in Kurla, Mumbai on Sunday morning. Police have expressed suspicion that she may have been strangled to death. According to sources, around 11.30 am, a pedestrian spotted an abandoned suitcase under the bridge near CST Road. When the person became suspicious about this suitcase, he informed the police.


After receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot. They examined the suitcase, in which they found the woman's body. The age of this deceased woman is said to be between 20 to 25 years. A police officer said the woman was wearing a T-shirt and track pants, so prima facie, there were no signs of sexual assault. No marks of injury were found on the body.

An FIR has been registered in this case and the police have started scanning the CCTV footage of the area where the suitcase was found. But they have not succeeded yet. Along with Kurla Police, the Crime Branch is also involved in the investigation. The body was sent to Rajawadi Hospital for post-mortem. Police are investigating further in this matter.
