According to sources, Mumbai Police has arrested a woman who was earlier accused of robbing a house where she worked as household help in the city.

However, what is surprising in this case is that the accused was apparently arrested by Mumbai Police 50 times since 2006 in various theft cases. Moreover, upon further investigation, it was found that the woman used to change her name every time before finding a new job.

The Mumbai Police further informed that the accused was working at the house of Deepika and Ashish Kumar Ganguly at Gulmohar Road, Vile Parle West, within the limits of Juhu Police Station. After the accused stole INR 10,000, along with other valuables from the house, Deepika Ganguly lodged a complaint on May 26, alleging burglary.

In view of the situation, the officials kept a close watch on her in Mankhurd, Vashi Naka, Chembur, Shivajinagar and Deonar and arrested her at Vikhroli after which it came to light that more than 50 cases have been registered against her in various police stations in Mumbai from 2003 to 2020.

This woman used to work as a maid under different names like Vanita alias Sunita, Sangeeta alias Asha, Manisha alias Usha Gaikwad in different parts of Mumbai. Each time the crime was committed, she changed her address. Moreover, she has also committed theft in Surat, Gujarat under the guise of Vanita Gaikwad.
