The investigation into the Kaveri Nakhwa accident at Worli Sea Face is nearing completion, and the Worli police are set to submit a 700-page charge sheet in the coming days. A key development in the case is the identification of a taxi driver who witnessed the accident. His testimony will be recorded before the Metropolitan Magistrate, adding crucial evidence to the case. So far, 38 witnesses have provided testimonies.

Circumstantial evidence has revealed that Mihir Shah, the main accused, was under the influence of alcohol during the accident. As a result, Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act, concerning drunk driving, has been applied to the case. Both Mihir Shah and another accused, Rajrishi Bidawat, have had their driver's licences cancelled. The charge sheet will soon be filed in the Sewri court against Mihir Shah, Bidawat, and Shah's father, Rajesh Shah.

The taxi driver, an eyewitness, has described how the accused driver fled with the injured woman following the accident, noting that he had never witnessed such a serious incident before. His detailed account will be formally recorded by the judicial magistrate.

While no alcohol was detected in the medical tests of Mihir Shah and Rajrishi Bidawat, further evidence, including testimony from a waiter at a bar, confirmed that Mihir Shah purchased and consumed beer in Juhu before the accident. Despite the negative medical reports, the testimony has led to the extension of Section 185 (drunk driving) in the case.
