On Tuesday, August 20, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a college student from Dharamtul in Assam’s Morigaon district after he allegedly threatened to attack players of the Indian cricket team. The accused, Brajamohan Das was arrested by a team of Mumbai ATS after he allegedly sent an e-mail to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in which he allegedly threatened to attack the Men In Blue.

Meanwhile, he also reportedly asked the Indian Cricket Board to take necessary action against terrorist outfits and if they failed to comply, he threatened to attack players of Team India. The Indian cricket team is currently in the West Indies on a tour which involves a bilateral Test, ODI, and T20 series.

Upon receiving the email allegedly sent by Das from his personal laptop, BCCI contacted Mumbai Police who sent a Mumbai ATS team and took the young college student into custody.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) too had received an email which stated that the Indian cricket team was being targeted. It’s, however, not clear as to who had sent the threat mail to PCB.

Meanwhile, the youngster has been taken under remand by the police and they are investigating the case further.
