The issue of caste discrimination has been rooted deeply within our country for years and the process of undoing this evil is painstakingly slow and it still exists today. Bollywood has been making various films on the issue.

Similarly, the film - 200 Hallo Ho - revolves around the atrocities against Dalit women.

The film, directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, features Saloni Batra, Indraneil Sengupta, Amol Palekar, Rinku Rajguru, Sahil Khattar, Barun Sobti and Upendra Limaye in pivotal roles.

Indraneil Sengupta will be seen playing the role of a police officer in the movie. In an exclusive conversation with Mumbai Live, sharing more details about his role, Sengupta said that “My character is of ACP Deshpande, who is morally upright as a person, has his values and has conscience and order. But also being in this system, he is compelled to work in a certain way. However, suddenly with this incident everything changes and has shaken up, which takes him through turmoil. It is an intense role, hence not many dialogues are involved. It's an individualised character, despite having less screen time.”

In the trailer, it can be seen that 200 Dalit women fight for justice against a serial molester and rapist.

On being asked about treatment to such sensitive topics and real-life incidents given in these movies and shows on OTT platforms, Indraneil said: “I think the OTT platform is doing a great job of trying to portray these real-life incidents or stories that are inspired by real-life incidents. Moreover, OTT has the liberty to showcase them in a certain way which is more realistic.”

“Some great directors are working on many such stories at various big platforms and supporting the stories. They are even doing a great job by telling those stories. So I'm very happy with the way the storytelling is happening on such sensitive obsessive topics. And I'm sure even Halla Ho is going to be in the same bracket,” he added.

The film, which is inspired by true events, is set to uncover the shocking events and circumstances which led hundreds of Dalit women to take law and justice into their own hands and lynch an alleged gangster, robber, serial killer, serial rapist, in open court. "We are frequently subjected to such rape and molestation stories because we keep reading in the newspapers and hear every now and then. Therefore, the movie brings out a very strong and hard-hitting message about these issues," shared the actor.

200 Hallo Ho is all set to premiere tomorrow, August 20, on Zee5 exclusively.
