Ekta Kapoor celebrates her birthday today. As she turns a year old, Kapoor has given her followers and audience a massive gift. The return gift is a show that is close to Kapoor's heart, and she is ready to present it to the world. TV doyenne and now an OTT Queen, Ekta Kapoor, is set to bring 'The Queens of Chambal', an interesting tale of women from the heartlands of Chambal. A show with two female protagonists set in the backdrop of Chambal sounds like something we all have been waiting for.

Ekta Kapoor herself dropped the poster on her Instagram while announcing the big-ticket project. Touted to be the next big series on the digital space, The Queens of Chambal seems to be an action drama laced with power and emotions, and it will stream on ALTBalaji. The poster, a graphical illustration, gives us a glimpse of what the show will be about. Two strong-headed women rule and lead the otherwise patriarchal gangdom of Chambal. In the poster, we see the two women, supposedly gal pals, sitting on a pile of dead bodies with their rifles in position and having a laugh. Not that we enjoy blood bath, but we will not deny that we do enjoy badass women on screen.

Dropping the intriguing poster, the social media handles of ALTBalaji said “Kehte hain aurat hi aurat ki sabse badi dushman hoti hai, par shayad woh log humse nahi mile.” Aa rahe hain Ratna Devi aur Menka, jald hi on #ALTBalaji! Shoot begins soon for #TheQueensOfChambal

The year 2021 has been going great for AltBalaji. The platform has recently started streaming Broken But Beautiful 3, which has been loved by the audience. On her birthday, Ekta also announced season 2 of The Married Woman that launched this year itself. Married Woman had Riddhi Dogra and Monica Dogra in the lead.

The Queens of Chambal sounds like a good show to watch out for. In the Indian telly or OTT space, we have rarely seen female decoits on screens. So to see not just one but two female gangstas on mainstream media will be something fascinating. It would also be interesting to see how she weaves the story around the same.
