Developing upon the burgeoning pop culture scene in India, Comic Con India has recently launched its fortnightly pop-culture update show on social media. The news format web series on its YouTube channel hosted by actor & blogger Tania Dutta features fun news stories, interviews and exclusive information from the world of pop-culture, with a special focus on India. The first five-minute episode aired after the end of American fantasy drama television series, Game of Thrones (GoT) featured Comic Con India’s wishlist for potential GoT sequels and prequels making it a must watch for its fans. The episode also gave the audiences a chance to reflect on the previous seasons. The second episode enlists top Indian comics to read in 2019 and has gone live last week.

Comic Con India has brought together passionate fans of comics, movies, TV, cosplay and pretty much everything in Pop Culture. The platform has been facilitating this for the past eight years and since then the community has been growing tremendously. By venturing into the non-fiction web series, it now aims to woo the pop culture fans through content comprising in-depth conversations and insights via digital route.

Sharing his views on this new property, Jatin Varma, Founder, Comic Con India, said, We are at the forefront of pop culture in India and with the massive community of pop culture fans in India that we cater to via our conventions, we felt a series like was the need of the hour. We hope to expand upon this and do more in the future .

Comic Con India has hosted some of the largest pop-culture conventions across the country, bringing down international stars like Vladimir Furdik who plays the Night King in Game of Thrones (GoT). The conventions have been considered as a must visit by GoT fans ever since the series aired for the very first time. Going forward with the launch of its non-fictional web series, it hopes to expand upon this driving a major focus on comics, cosplay, and gaming in India.
