It was announced earlier that MX Player will be making a web series based on the life of former Tamil Nadu chief minister, J. Jayalalithaa, and the first look of the same was released recently. The poster features actor Ramya Krishnan posing as Jayalalithaa.
Co-directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan, the show will focus on Jayalalithaa’s life which has been divided into three parts - a school-going girl, a teenager, and politics which she joined post MG Ramachandran’s (MGR) death. The first season of the show has 12 episodes, where both the directors have individually directed five episodes each, and two episodes have been jointly directed by both of them.
Written by Reshma Ghatala, the show will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Bengali. The release date of the show has not been announced by MX Player, but it is said that officials at the OTT have given a go-ahead for season 2 of the show.
