Yoodlee Films has established itself as a production house that pushes the envelope when it comes to filmmaking. The production house's next film Axone will be streaming on Netflix from June 12, 2020. Set in Delhi, the film follows a group of Northeastern friends as they fight against all odds to get their friend's wedding right.

Axone unravels the inherent racism in our metros towards anybody who has slightly different cultural and social backgrounds. While it exposes a sub-culture that is often ignored, at its core, Axone is about friendship. The film stars Sayani Gupta, Dolly Ahluwalia, Tenzin Dalha, and Vinay Pathak as well as an ensemble cast from the Northeast including Asenla Jamir, Lin Laishram, and Lanuakum Ao and is directed by Nicholas Kharkongor.

Axone has already established itself in the international film festival circuit, critically acclaimed for its sensitive treatment of an issue often deemed uncomfortable to address in the mainstream.

Talking about the same, the director said, "This is a very personal story. I have lived outside the Northeast now for over 20 years. For a long time, I have wanted to make a film about the Northeasternexperienceof living in the city: about a tiny community of (mostly) young people who, in the way that they look, eat, dress and speak - sets them apart from the rest. But I didn’t want to make a bleak film. Because the truth is also that we find a lot of acceptance and love in the city; and for many of us, the city is our home. So the result is this funny and bittersweet film that gives you a peek into the lives of an oft-maligned community living on the fringes of society, celebrating their difference."

The has already been screened at BFI London Film Festival, MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, Pune International Film Festival, and Glocal Hornbill International Film Festivals and won rave reviews.
