Vidya Balan to be seen as 'Indira Gandhi' in her digital debut

The actress who recently bought the rights of Sagarika Ghose's book Indira: India's Most Powerful Prime Minister said that the project is under development. The web series will be produced by RSVP films and directed by Ritesh Batra.

Director of critic-acclaimed films, The Lunch Box and Photograph, Ritesh Batra, will soon be directing a web-series on India Gandhi, and as par reports, he has signed ace actress Vidya Balan for the role. The series is based on Sagarika Ghose's book Indira: India's Most Powerful Prime Minister, the rights of which were recently bought by Vidya. 

Talking about the same, she said, "I am doing a web series and it is my debut, Ronnie Screwvala is producing it. It is taking a long time to put it together as there is so much material. The web series requires a lot of work. So it is taking time but let's see. I hope it doesn't take long."

The actress was recently seen in Fox Star's recent film Mission Mangal, which has been loved by the audience. In an interview with PTI, she mentioned that the project is under development

Ritesh's last film as a director, Photograph, received applause at film festivals abroad and starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles.
