Lower Parel- G/North ward in BMC has kickstarted cleaning drive. Under the scheme areas that will be cleaned includes Lower Parel, Worli and Saat Rasta. The initiative started from 28 December in which municipal officers were present along with cleaners.
They went into the slums and societies and did the cleaning. Residents were asked to dump the wet and dry waste in their respective dustbins. BMC has started pasting banners and putting up banners to aware people about dumping the wet waste in different dustbin. In the city 9,000 tonnes of waste is amassed on regular basis and it's a herculean task for BMC to dump it.
