In a substantial development, Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools will be renamed as 'Mumbai Public Schools'. Moreover, a new logo will also be made for it. In a statement, Doshi informed that the decision to change the name was taken to create a positive attitude in the minds of the people about the schools under the umbrella of the civic body.
Currently, the BMC runs 963 primary and 224 secondary schools. The schools, located at different locations in different wards of Mumbai, will be known as Mumbai Public Schools (MPS) with their original names as per the new policy. A new logo called 'MPS' will also be created.
