BMC has decided to change the face of their schools to attract more teachers and students. Civic run schools situated in Parel, Bhoiwada, Kamathipura and MHB will undergo a makeover. These schools will no longer look like civic-run but will look more like private ones. The infrastructure of civic-run schools are not good and so teachers opt for private schools. To change this scenario, BMC planned to change the face of the schools by colouring it.

For the first time, students will get to learn through a virtual classroom. Last year, BMC had decided to spend Rs. 411 crores on 98 school buildings, amongst which, BMC is aiming to complete 19 buildings by the 2017 year end. “We want more students to come to our schools and so we decided to renovate the school. We also want to change the perception of people when they think of BMC schools," said Shubhada Gudekar, chairman, education committee.
