Mumbai: BMC To Run 3 More CBSE Schools From 2023-2024

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is gearing up to start three more Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in the academic year 2023-2024. In two days, the education department received 363 applications. The online application process will continue till June 26, as per the reports by Free Press Journal. 


Anik Gaon - Newly constructed school buildings at Jijamata Nagar, Mumbai Public School, Ashish Lake (Wadavali) and M.G.Cross Road No.1 at Kandivali have received administrative approval for opening schools from the CBSE Board. These upcoming schools will be from nursery to first. The online application process has started from June 19 and will continue till June 26 midnight. These admissions will be done through a lottery.

Apart from state-board schools, the civic body also runs 11 CBSE, one Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) schools. There are 40 seats for each administratively run CBSE school, of which 10% are filled on the recommendation of the administrator, while 5% are reserved for children of administrative employees and 34 seats are open to the public.
