According to the guidelines of the National Education Policy, the Mumbai University has prepared a five-year comprehensive plan by giving priority to skill-based courses and in the recently held special assembly meeting, the five-year comprehensive plan for the academic year 2024-25 to 2028-29 has been approved. 


According to this comprehensive plan, now students will get more and more skilled education. In this comprehensive plan, along with skilled education, locations of Women's College, Satellite Centre, Night College have been determined. At the same time, in this comprehensive plan, courses have been suggested by identifying the skills of the district from the geographical, social and urgent point of view of the university examination.


The comprehensive plan envisages colleges offering essential skill courses instead of traditional arts, science and commerce faculty courses. Along with this, the points have been determined according to the population of the district and the colleges there.

As per the points determined in this five-year comprehensive plan, the skill sets required for the local industries as per the urgency of the geographical area of all the seven districts of Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs, Thane, Raigad, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri and Palghar, has been prepared. 


This five-year comprehensive plan has been prepared by conducting a detailed study of the suggestions of the stakeholders in relation to the needs of higher education facilities for regional needs and aspirations of the socially and economically disadvantaged youths such as women, students, backward classes, tribal tribes and other related groups in relation to trade and commerce. Mumbai Division, Konkan Division, Rural, Urban, Hilly, Tribal, Coastal Divisions were also considered in this.

According to this comprehensive plan, courses in stock market, financial advisory, gems jewellery, logistics and supply chain management, family business management, career counselling, clinical counselling, industrial psychology, real estate management, construction and allied business management, Business Analytics, Diet and Health Management, Physical Health Management, Textile, Handloom, Designing, Agro Product Management, Food Supply Chain, Warehouse and Godown Management, Paints and Coatings, Network Hardware and Security Courses, Security and Establishment Management, Software Project Management, Web Services Management, Waste Management, Water System and Resources Management, Fisheries, Seafood Processing, Food Processing, Horticulture, Gardening and Nursery, Cooking-Baking, Dietetics, Yoga Beauty and Wellness, Cloud Computing, Data Tracking, Data Warehousing, Data Management, Industrial Safety-Security, Manual Compost Making, Natural Resource Management, Oceanography, Agrobase Skill Courses, Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Education, Small Business Management, Digital Electronics Marketing, Handicraft, Inventory and Warehouse Management, Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, Plastic Waste Management, Ship Building and Maintenance Management, Leather Items Making, Fisheries Fish Conservation, Dry Fish Management, Block Chain Technology ,Various innovative skill courses like Freight Management, Infrastructure Project Management, Home Appliances Repair and Maintenance, Bee-keeping and Management, Milk and Milk Products, Spice Plantation and Conservation have been proposed in this five-year comprehensive plan.


Annual Audit Report for the year 2020-21 approved in the Assembly 

At the same time, the Annual Accounts of Mumbai University for the year 2020-21, balance sheet as on March 31, 2021 and May, the Audit Report submitted by NBS & Company (CA), Statutory Auditors of University of Mumbai has been approved by the Assembly.
