The Western Railways (WR) issued an official statement on Friday evening, September 24, mentioning that it will allow the candidates appearing for the Common Entrance Test (CET) and Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam to travel by local trains in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

WR Chief Public Relations Officer, Sumit Thakur, said that the applicants appearing for the CET exams and MPSC exams will be given suburban train tickets. 

The tickets will be issued based on valid hall tickets produced by the concerned authorities.

The common Entrance Test (CET) will be held until October 10 while Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is scheduled on September 25, 2021.

Earlier, in the joint pre-examination of MPSC that was held on September 4, the candidates were allowed to travel by train.

During that time, BJP MLA  Ashish Shelar had taken the issue to the Minister of State for Railways, and his pursuit was a success, allowing students to travel by local train on Saturday, September 4.

Uday Samant, Maharashtra's minister of State Higher and Technical Education, had earlier announced that MH-CET would be held from September 15.
