On Wednesday, December 30, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' stated that he will announce the exam dates for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and Class 12 on December 31 at 6 PM.

Moreover, the Union Education Minister added that the CBSE board examinations will not be held online and the examination will be held in adherence to the protocols with regards to the coronavirus. Earlier on December 26, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in a tweet stated the same.

The Ministry of Education has further already clarified that the examinations will be in pen and paper mode only. The CBSE too had earlier this month announced that the examinations will be conducted in written mode and not online.

Meanwhile, the CBSE practicals will be held for students of Class 12 who have been able to attend practical classes. However, since several students have complained that their schools have not been able to hold a single practical class physically, the board has announced that it is exploring alternate modes for marking practicals. However, it has clarified reports claiming that the practicals will be held in January and February, stating that the reports are false.

Pokhriyal had earlier on December 11 informed that if schools continue to remain closed, there will be an alternative mode of assessment instead of the CBSE class 10 and 12 practical board exams. He further added that there is no mandate that the exams will be held in the month of March and a postponement and further delay can be considered based on the situation.
