The students who had earlier appeared for the class 10 CBSE examinations have been waiting for their mark sheets and certificates three months after the results have been announced.

Moreover, with students applying to the junior colleges to continue their education, many fear that the lack of legitimate certificates could create issues at the time of admission. As per reports, at least 6,742 CBSE students have applied under the centralised FYJC admission process. The process had earlier been halted with the SC passing an interim order staying the Maratha quota, the reservation process is touted to not be implemented in the admission process this year. However, the admissions are likely to resume this week.

The students will also be able to start their studies in the preferred branch even if they are not admitted to any college. In addition, they will be able to study in more than one branch. It will also make it easier for students to decide which subjects they like at the time of the actual admission process.

The Central Board of Secondary Education had earlier declared the results of class 10 examinations on July 15, 2020. The CBSE exams were scheduled from February 15 to March 20, this year. However, the board had to postpone all the examinations from March 19 onwards for an indefinite period due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown. The remaining papers scheduled from July 1 to July 15 were also cancelled later after the Supreme Court intervened into the matter.
