Amid uproar in the country due to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)’s announcement to reconduct examination, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Friday – in a press release – blamed the government for the mess and appealed to the students and their parents to not sit for the examination again.

Earlier, CBSE announced to reconduct the examination of Mathematics and Economics for 10th and 12th standard, respectively, because the question papers were leaked. In reaction to this, the students and parents all across the country came out and protested against the Central board.

Now, the MNS chief has also made a statement adding to this controversy, “What the government and CBSE have done to students is inexcusable and undefinable. It is unjust to the students.”

While appealing to the parents, he said, “Do not let the students sit for the re-examination.”

While blaming the government for the paper leak, Thackeray said that the government is punishing students for their own faults by conducting a re-examination. He further said that students should stick to their decision and not sit for the examination. They have the full support of MNS, Thackeray added.

CBSE is not a state board and it has students enrolled from all across the country. Thus, the government’s decision to reconduct the examination did not work well with the students. The agitation by the students all over was expected.
