The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams of class X and XII will commence from March 5 while Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) exams of class XII (ISC) and X (ICSE) will begin from February 7 respectively.

The class X CBSE exams will end on April 4 and class XII exams on April 12. The ISC theory exams will start on February 12 and the test will run until March 28. On April 2, the ICSE exams will end.

However, the circular mentioned that owing to the assembly elections, chief election commissioner might declare dates which can clash with the exams and so, the time-table might change.

This year, instead of 35 per cent, the criteria for passing will be 33 per cent and ISC will be 35 per cent instead of 40 per cent.

CISCE secretary and chief executive Gerry Arathoon told TOI,

Also, pass marks in class X ICSE and XII ISC exams will be reduced from this year, from 35 to 33 for ICSE students and from 40 to 35 for ISC students, and evaluation of practical exams will have to be done on the day of exam itself at the school, instead of centralised evaluation centres.”
